Eduardo D. Zamora, M.D. Awarded Board Certified Neurologist

Dr. Zamora brings more than 20 years of experience in several areas of Neuroscience to the Eastern Panhandle and Shenandoah Valley regions.  Dr. Zamora is a Board Certified Neurologist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology (EMG, EEG, and Sleep Studies) at George Washington University Hospital.  Dr. Zamora specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders including Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Alzheimer’s disease and other Dementias, Parkinson’s disease, Migraine headaches, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases, Spinal Cord diseases, Peripheral Neuropathies, among other neurological disorders.

Dr. Zamora pursued his residency in Neurology at the prestigious George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C., and was a fellow in Clinical Neurophysiology at the same institution the following year. He graduated as a Medical Doctor at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1993, obtained 5 years of training in Neurosurgery, and subsequently a full residency in Neuropathology. He then came to the US to pursue fellowships and training in Neuroscience, Neuropathology and Neurology at Georgetown University, the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as in the prestigious the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. 

Dr. Zamora also has extensive teaching experience, and has been invited as a guest speaker at the prestigious University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

He is the author of various publications and contributing author of a book, and has been the recipient of several awards at very prestigious Universities such as the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, George Washington University Hospital, and also internationally. 

Dr. Zamora also has extensive teaching experience, and has been invited as a guest speaker at the prestigious University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.He is the author of various publications and contributing author of a book, and has been the recipient of several awards at very prestigious Universities such as the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, George Washington University Hospital, and also internationally.

During his successful career, Dr. Zamora became a faculty member at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions where he performed research on several neurological diseases such as Stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, and later at the National Institutes of Health, where he undertook  studies on the neurogenetics of Schizophrenia and other Mental disorders.

Dr. Zamora also has extensive teaching experience, and was invited as a guest speaker at the prestigious University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

He is the author of various publications and contributing author of a book, and has been the recipient of several awards at prestigious universities such as the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, the George Washington University Hospital, and also internationally.
